Watching chinese drama seems like a norm; I should just say that it's an integral part of my life. My mom being a chinese drama addict influenced me in such a way that i am very proud to acknowledge my chinese root. The seed planted by her is very much alive and her little girl has always been proud to be who she is. I have always like to share stories with those of a generation older than me, who came from China and last week, i had this chinese woman telling me about her life, past and present, with her family now in this land of hope. (querying on what kind of clinic i am working in now...nah, it ain't psychiatry, it's obstetric and gynaecology [obgyn]!!! my surgeon preceptor spent his time enjoying his lunch!!! hence, i had the chance to explore further about her history....she actually came to clinic for her monthly antenatal visit!!! =D )
She told me that her daughter is refusing to speak her mother tongue, preferring to converse in english and act like a white. I undestood her pessimism as she continues to elaborate her fruitless effort. This is one of the reason i aint hoping to stay in canada permanently as i wish to have kids who could appreciate the complexity of chinese culture.
Catching up with a friend who's my classmate, sharing and "gossiping" on the latest news has always been one of my favourite past time. Yesterday, she brought up a topic by asking me if i would mind a divorcee. I paused and gave my assent to that question. I guess, as long as that particular decision was reached due to certain valid reason (that i think is appropriate), then it's probably acceptable then. Ok.....i am starting to babble as i am going through a spell of sleep deprivation after watching about 80 episodes of hong kong tvb dramas...all in the span of 5 days!!!! Lets do some counting...1 epi = 45 min....did i even sleep in between?....worth mentioning as well, i actually had my obgyn exam on the 2nd day of this tvb addiction spell!!! Time to (-_-) that i will not need to rewrite it!!!
