Dae Jang Geum

If this figure had really once graced the earth, it must have wanted it's soul and spirit to live once again.

Watching this series was purely accidental. I caught a few episodes when I was doing electives in NY last July and did think that I got hooked for a bit but didnt pursue it further. Not sure what made me downloaded it but I am truly captivated by this series now. Firstly, it's plot includes my love like cooking and medicine. Then, it's Lee Young-Ae, I am just speechless with her performance. It's so heart warming that I really thought that I was going through everything with her in DJG. She's a true beauty...although she does age, that's just the normal process. Her real character stands out; sweet, down-to-earth and mesmerising. Lastly, the love story between Jang Geum and Jung-Ho is so sweet and real- this is the kind of relationship that will last for life. The development of their romance seems so subtle yet strong; something that might be shadowed by Jang Geum's character but without it, she might not have gone this far. Who knows. No man is an island. However, I am sure you will be touched this love story.

If you have been following my blog, you probably know that i am somewhat loosing interest in medicine these days. Maybe it's due to stress or it might be the truth. However, Dae Jang Geum actually managed to bring out the small fire in me again. I feel so much like working as a physician now. I went through the journey of rediscovering the importance in becoming a dedicated physician rather than giving half-hearted effort. That's probably the most important reason why I am so attached to this drama. Watching her perserverance, strong-will and unremitting effort reminded me that I should still be feeling lucky or at least assured that at the end of the day, hard work does pay off.

I pray to Dae Jang Geum, I hope that she can see why I am needing her blessings. (-_-) .

My interview is less than a month away. It's a hit or miss. I really would love to soak myself into the surgery world as soon as possible. Yein is a bit concern if I am so into it just because I am a little maniac on how I treat things initially when I actually fall in love it. She's not sure if my romance with surgery will last....what say you!!?? Anyway, I am not going to let go. Though the journey is going to be painful, it's expected as sweetness comes after bitterness isn't?
